Repressions against Russian opposition activists: anarchist and anti-fascist Alexei Sutuga sentenced to three years and a month, of a penal colony.
The court found the Sutuga guilty of beating and hooliganism. He was charged that he, together with unidentified persons allegedly assaulted an armed group of neo-Nazis in the cafe “Sbarro” by the metro “October”. Was the attack made by Sutuga? He does not recognize his guilt. Sutuga denies that he was the instigator of the conflict. And claims that intervened in the conflict to stop it. His opinion agreed by representatives of Russian human rights activists and opposition media. It is also important to note here, that the person is an opposition activist. So the opinion of the defense and of the Sutuga – verdict has a political motive.
An interesting point is that the prosecutor asked the court to remove Belov charges in the beatings, and hence Sutuga, in his opinion, did not beat neo-Nazis.
It may be interesting and the text of the indictment, which reads as follows: “Unidentified partners, using as weapons trays, dishes and utensils began to throw them in Mirza and Parkhomenko, causing physical pain in the Mirzas back and shoulder, and Parkhomenko injuries in subcutaneous hematoma. “It turns out, the act has been committed by unknown persons, and an innocent man is responsible for it.
Everything that is happening explained by the fact that today’s Russia has a political police, which by all means seek to destroy dissent, as well as to suppress the opposition activists. Of course, in an authoritarian state with the political police has a free hand, many of the principles of law do not apply. And they themselves “guardians of the law” and the authoritarian regime go to great lengths to destroy any opposition initiatives in the community.
In the same situation, the political police routinely colluded with neo-Nazis and forced to give them the necessary evidence against opposition activist.
More recently, neo-Nazi radicals sought to become a threat to the anti-fascists, migrants and human rights defenders. They were armed, published materials on their resources against their enemies and even kill them. But now, under the influence of the political police, they become victims in criminal cases.
After receiving a beating without harm, would an armed neo-Nazi, who craved this war write a statement? Obviously, no. He was directed by the political police, which made him to write a statement.
Meanwhile, the anti-fascist movement in Russia destroyed by the political police. The main anti-fascist activists are either on the run or prisoned. Silane and Solopov are fled. Kharchenko and Gaskarov jailed. Now the political police have prisoned Sutuga.
We believe it is necessary to recognize all of the repressed opposition activists to be political prisoners. And this recognition should be given to anti-fascist activists who have suffered for their ideas.
Freedom for all opposition activists! No to repressions!
